Chloroprene rubber (also known as CR) is a synthetic rubber made from the polymerisation of chloroprene monomers. The appearance of CR is milky white, beige or light brown flakes or lumps, density 1.23~1.25g/㎤, glass transition temperature -40℃~-50℃, crumbling point -35℃, softening point about 80℃, decomposition 230℃~260℃. Soluble in organic solvents such as chloroform and benzene, and insoluble in vegetable oil and mineral oil. CR is widely used in the manufacture of rubber products.

 

Chloroprene rubber has good physical and mechanical properties and is resistant to oil, heat, fire, sunlight, ozone, acids and alkalis, and chemical reagents, but has poor cold resistance and storage stability.

 

Therefore, when choosing Chloroprene rubber as a sealing material, its advantages and disadvantages need to be considered in accordance with the specific conditions of use to determine whether it is suitable for use.
