Helical Spring Energized Seal
A helical spring energized piston seal is a type of piston seal that uses a helical spring to provide sealing force. The spring is usually made of stainless steel or other corrosion-resistant materials and is designed to apply radial pressure to the sealing lips of the piston seal. The sealing lips are typically made of a polymer material such as PTFE or UHMWPE, which provides excellent chemical resistance, low friction, and high wear resistance.
At the same time, the system pressure also has an auxiliary effect on the sealing effect. Through the elastic force of the spring and the system pressure, no matter under high pressure or low pressure, effective sealing can be achieved of the seal. Spring energized seal rings are available in a variety of manufacturing methods, and each series of springs has different characteristics to meet the requirements of different sealing conditions.
