The lip structure of PTFE lip seals enables a self-tightening seal using medium pressure. When there is medium pressure inside the valve, the lip will fit more closely on the sealing surface under pressure, effectively preventing medium leakage. This design can adapt to a certain range of pressure changes, to ensure the sealing effect.

PTFE can be processed into lip seals of different shapes and sizes to meet the sealing requirements of various ultra-low temperature valves. For example, seals with different thicknesses and lip angles can be customised according to the specific shape and size of the valve sealing groove.

The PTFE material has an extremely low coefficient of friction, which allows the lip seal to generate very little friction when in contact with the valve stem or other moving parts. This reduces wear and prolongs the service life of the seal during frequent opening and closing operations of the valve. For example, in the valves of a liquid hydrogen refuelling station, frequent valve operations do not result in seal damage due to excessive friction.
