The Dragon Boat Festival is one of the traditional festivals in China. It began in the Warring States Period and originated from the ancient dragon boat races and poetry activities in memory of Qu Yuan. According to legend, Qu Yuan was a great poet and minister of the Chu State in ancient China. He was relegated because he was dissatisfied with the corruption of the court, and finally threw himself into the river on May 5 to show his loyalty to the Chu State.

In order to save Qu Yuan's soul, people perform folk activities such as rowing dragon boats, beating bronze cannons, eating rice dumplings and hanging calamus on this day to drive away evil spirits, pray for peace and commemorate Qu Yuan.

Today, the Dragon Boat Festival has become one of the traditional festivals of the Chinese nation. On this day, people will hold dragon boat races, eat zongzi, paste calamus and participate in various folk activities. The Dragon Boat Festival has also become an important part of Chinese culture, and is still celebrated and passed down by Chinese and overseas Chinese all over the world.

Finally, I wish you all a healthy Dragon Boat Festival!
