What are the characteristics of PEEK
PEEK (polyetherketone) is a high-performance engineering plastic with superior mechanical and chemical qualities. It has outstanding mechanical strength, stiffness, and wear resistance, as well as good self-lubricating and flame-retardant qualities, and is widely utilised in aerospace, medical, automotive, electronics, electrical, industrial, and other areas.
PEEK material has the following characteristics:
1. High temperature resistance: PEEK has good high temperature resistance, with a glass transition temperature of 143°C and a heat distortion temperature of 315°C.
2. Chemical corrosion resistance: PEEK material is chemically resistant and has a high resistance to strong acids and alkalis such as oxidising acid, hydrochloric acid, and hydrofluoric acid.
3. Mechanical strength: The strength and rigidity of PEEK material are very high, higher than that of general engineering plastics.
4. Wear resistance: PEEK material has excellent wear resistance and can be used to manufacture pulleys, bearings and other parts.
5. Self-lubrication: PEEK material has good self-lubrication performance and low friction coefficient.
6. Flame retardancy: PEEK material has little spontaneous combustion, and it is not easy to catch fire even at high temperature.
In short, PEEK material has good comprehensive properties and is a very good high-performance engineering plastic.
