Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is a high molecular weight polymer, one of the most widely known

plastic materials, and can be used in various products besides other materials. Teflon O-rings are

known for their high heat resistance, high resistance to chemical reagents and solvents, adhesion

resistance, dielectric properties, low friction coefficient and non-toxicity.

The tensile and compressive properties are largely affected by the processing process and the

polymer used. However, PTFE can be used continuously at temperatures up to 250°C ,

while still having a certain degree of compression plasticity at temperatures close to absolute zero.
